Hi, I’m Tessa! I was dumped in a city shelter after being used for breeding over and over again, but I am the happiest pug in the world now that I am healthy and free! I’m about 7 years old, but I have the energy level of a puppy! I love to go on walks, and play with toys and other dogs. My favorite activity is cuddling. Even though I am mostly blind, I will follow my humans around the house like I have 20/20 vision until I can find a good spot on a lap. Everyone tells me that my fur feels like velvet and they love petting me. I am blind, but I don’t have the tendencies of a blind dog. I love children and don’t mind if you walk right up and hug me, it doesn’t scare me because I can hear and smell you coming. I don’t get scared by loud noises either. Once I get used to my surroundings, I have no issues running around and jumping on the furniture. I love sleeping in the middle of the bed at night and I don’t snore loud. I love other animals including dogs and cats. I am good in car rides and housebroken. My foster mommy can safely leave me alone at home because there are no stairs for me to fall down. However, I don’t like to be home alone. I will cry softly when you leave me alone by myself but I do well if there are other dogs home with me. I need eye drops on a daily basis, but I don’t mind them. I just sit there while my human puts them in and wag my tail. I have so much love to give, please give me a chance!

K.C.

  • Female, 3 years old
  • Special Needs: Allergies – needs meds and daily face & ear cleaning
  • Housebroken and good with other dogs
  • Adoption fee: $300
K.C.  is so sweet!  She is a 3yr old fawn female who is very well behaved.  She is house trained & she sleeps in her crate at night.  She did cringe at first when you would reach your hand out to her, but she is fine now that she knows she is not going to be hit. 🙁  She gets along very well with my other dogs.  She follows her foster family around everywhere, so she is very loyal & seems to bond quickly.  She does have some allergies, so she gets a couple of allergy pills & she needs her face and ears cleaned daily to prevent yeast infections.  The only habit that K.C. has that might be a little cumbersome, is that she is a barker-any little noise & she is all over it! She thinks she is doing her job & if you just say, “shush” she does.  🙂

Paisley is a great seven year old little lady pug.  She likes to go on car rides and long walks and gets along with most other dogs (except for puppies).  She is housebroken, crate trained and has the sweetest disposition.  She loves cuddling up on the couch and would be perfect for a professional couple or an older couple, as she is always acting as someones shadow. Meal time is by far her favorite part of the day and she will sing (bark & howl) and do multiple turns to show you she is excited to eat.

  • Piper – Female, 8 years old
  • Chaz – Male, 9 years old
  • Good with dogs and cats
  • Bonded Pair
  • Adoption fee: $200 for the pair

Piper is a sweet, lovable girl, loves to sit on a lap, go for walks, plays well with the other dogs and she plays with the cat. She is 7 years old. She is housebroken, uses the dog door, and is crate trained but she sleeps with us.

Chaz is a little guy around 14 lbs who loves attention, he is bonded to his big “sister”  Piper. He is 8 years old and follows her everywhere and they walk side by side when we take them out for their walk. He is not overly affectionate, just content to sit on a lap to be petted. He is housebroken, uses the dog door and is crate trained but sleeps with us.  He gets along well with our other dogs and the cats.

Hi – I’m Midge!  After a stint at the Adam Co Humane Society, I came to Co Pug Rescue for the chance to find a good home with my kinda people.  I am an older girl – but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a gentle game of tug o war with a soft toy 🙂  I LOVE to be with people, especially “my” person, and I don’t like being left alone – but I’m not destructive about it, just sad and I vocalized that sadness for a bit before settling down and waiting for your return. I am housebroken and will let you know when I want to go outside, but being older, sometimes I can’t help myself and I leave little puddles around the house – not all the time, just sometimes. I am ok with other dogs and kitties, but my foster mom’s cats Do Not Respect my space and I have to tell them to leave me alone! My foster mom trusts me and knows I won’t hurt them or even chase them for fun. They can even sleep next to me – just stay out of my face. Same for other little dogs – I get a bit jealous and won’t back down if they don’t back down, all I need is a good firm “No” and separate us if I forget my manners.  Give me a chance and I will love you for the rest of my life!

Rosie came to CPR as a stray. When we got her she was a mess. She had tumors and teeth that needed to be removed and a bladder infection. Due to her susceptibility to bladder infections, she will need to be on a special diet the rest of her life. She is also mostly blind. Rosie is very sweet and affectionate. She is also good with other dogs.

Ramona

  • Female, 3 years old
  • Puggle
  • Good with dogs and cats
  •  Housebroken
  • Special Needs: Severe food allergies, will need medication and/or strict diet the rest of her life
  • Adoption fee: $300
Ramona is a curious and wicked smart 3 year old puggle. She has excellent scavenger talents, so she’ll need a family who will spend lots of time with her and keep her out of trouble. She can be naughty now and then. She also thrives in a pack with a strong human leader. She is housebroken and will ask to go outside. Ramona was relinquished because she had severe food allergies. This is a struggle she will have the rest of her life. CPR is currently managing the allergies with a very strict diet, mix of raw food and prescription allergy food as well as medication. Ideally, she’d find a home willing to continue investigating her allergies and find a way to manage it with diet alone. Ramona is crate trained, but enjoys a good bedtime snuggle. She gets along great with her foster brothers and foster cats.

Nici is very sweet and curious. She loves belly rubs. She has a quiet bark. Nici can be a picky eater and her the nerve damage in her rear end affects er legs and hips. At times, she can be incontinent.  Despite the nerve damage, she can get around fine and can climb stairs. Nici has been crated trained and enjoys sleeping on the couch and bed. Her previous owners may have been a little rough with her as it’s obvious she has been yelled at a and chased.  All and all, Nici is fine in any situation — she is pretty much good with everyone including kids and other animals.

  • Special needs: has 3 legs.
  • Adoption fee: $300

Remember Stop Drop and Roll? Well, that is me to a tee. My name is Coco and I will stop, drop and roll for a belly rub ANY TIME! I am 7 year old female and I am used to being in a loving home. My owner had to give me up because she was having some health issues. The first thing you will notice when you meet me, is that I only have 3 legs. That makes it a little difficult for me to get on and off of furniture, up and down stairs, etc…..but it does not slow me down. I use my tail to balance me out and I do just fine. I am totally housetrained and don’t bark very much. I love to go for walks in my stroller. I am a little shy at first, but keep those belly rubs coming and I will warm up to you! I need drops in my eyes due to dry eye, but outside of that, I am healthy! If you think that you could be my next loving forever home, please put Coco on your application.

Addie

  • Female, 7 years old
  • Special Needs: blind and diabetic
  • Adoption fee: $300

Hi! I’m Addison! You can call me Addie, or Addikens – I respond very well to voices as I am blind. But don’t feel to bad for me because I’m blind – it’s not so bad, I get around fine, even stairs once I know where they are and where I am going. I LOVE to be held and snuggle and will sit in your lap or by you for as long as I can – I really need to be with people. My foster mom says I need to stay in a crate in the car or when I am by myself for my safety – must be that blind thing again.  I do protest a little at first but I know she is right and it’s ok. I am diabetic but that is not a problem for me – it means I get to eat twice a day so I can have my insulin – I don’t even know it’s being given to me!  I like other pugs and cats, but sometimes other dogs don’t like me very much – I think they are jealous because they know I am special. My foster mom really monitors my interaction with others to keep them..er..me out of trouble.  I love to lick….I lick a lot….and sometimes that gets me excited and I start humping – I just can’t help myself so I need help being told no when I get wound up. I want to be your furever pug please put Addie on your application!

Somebody loves to sunbathe!  Meet Miss Clancy!  Clancy is a 12 year old sweetheart with a beautiful spirit.  She loves to cuddle with her human friends and is happy to curl up at your feet when you’re working from home.  Naps are one of her favorite past times, but she is also playful with her greyhound and pug brothers.  She gets along great with all types of dogs, kids, and big people, too.  Her most endearing quality is her little “Welcome Home” sing song bark/howl when you walk in the door each day.
Clancy is losing her sight in both eyes and has eye medicine that she requires daily.  However, she’s happy to stand still while you add the gel to her eyes and she gets around well for having limited vision.  Clancy is currently on a special Urinary SO diet which she will need to continue.  This will help her from getting bladder infections and tumors like she’s had in the past.  She also takes a glucosamine to help her with some of her old age in her back and back legs.  But, now that she has gotten proper veterinary care and some TLC, she is a happy, healthy girl with a lot of love to give a special family.

Need a lap dog??  If your answer is yes, then I’m the lady for you!  My name is Kya, and I am 9 year old, fawn, spayed female pug for adoption.  As you can see, I love to be close to people and will follow you like a shadow.  If you allow me to do so, my favorite activity is to snuggle up with you.  I like all kinds of people, even the little ones.  I also enjoy the company of other dogs.  I have a calmer disposition, but enjoy walks and romps at the dog park.  I am house trained, crate trained, and not destructive if left alone.  Although I have a cataract in one eye, I can see fine with my other eye.  Otherwise, I have a clean bill of health, recently having a check-up, vaccinations, and a dental.  My foster family thinks I am a wonderful dog and will make an awesome companion for a family that can look beyond my age.  I am just seeking for a forever home to love and be loved for years to come.  If you think you may be the new family for me, please don’t hesitate to put my name on the adoption application!

  • Adoption fee: $300

Hi everyone, my name is Harmony.  I came into the rescue when my owners couldn’t afford surgery to remove bladder stones.  I had 3 large stones removed and I feel soooo much better!  I’m doing great post-op but have to eat a prescription food for the rest of my life to keep the stones from coming back…that means treats too.  But I like the food and my foster family saves some kibbles from my daily meals to give as treats.  Most of the time I’m like any other pug and sleep a lot, but mid afternoon I can get down right lively.  I like to play with toys and my foster family has found that a rawhide chew helps to get me through the fidgets.  My vet even went so far as to call me a D.Q., which I found out means drama queen!  I get along with other dogs but don’t know any cats.  I really enjoy my morning and evening walks and if the cows are nearby I like to bark at them.  They don’t seem to mind and sometimes they  come over to see what all the noise is about.  About barking … when left alone, I bark.  When it thunders, I bark. Sometimes I bark at birds.  I’m not an incessant barker, just making a few comments.  My foster family isn’t sure how long I bark when left alone – now that I’m healed from my surgery, they are going to try some experiments.  I have never been crate trained and insist on sleeping on the bed with you.  I also like a lap whenever possible.  As you can see from my photos, I’m super cute.  Hmm, I’m starting to understand that D.Q. title!
