Hi everyone!  I’m Lucy (too)!  I love to cuddle next to you on the couch while you watch TV.  You might say I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of pug as I always wag my tail and wiggle my butt when I see you (I’ll even give you kisses if you come down to my level)!  I will follow you all around the house to see what you are up to.  I am a very good girl and go potty outside and also know (and follow) a few basic commands!  The only medicine I take is glucosamine to combat some stiffness, but other than that, my health is fantastic!  I get along with my three pug foster sisters, but since I was raised mostly alone I do not require canine companionship to be happy.  I am good around kids, but have never been around cats.  While I don’t get into trouble while my foster parents are away, I would really love to be with my humans for most of the day since that is what I am used to.  My foster parents say that I’m super easy to take care of!  If you can find a place in your heart to give me a forever home put my name on your adoption application!  PS:  I am bananas about bananas!

Phoebe is a very, very sweet little girl.  She enjoys a laid back environment. When she hears noises, she will often bark, she’ll bark for a bit then let it go. She is a little unsure at first when a hand reaches to pet her, but when she warms up she loves being rubbed on the belly and petted.  She has also learned to use the doggie door and has not had any accidents in her foster home.

Meet  Sophia!  Sophia is a ten year old bundle of love.  Sadly, she hasn’t had the best of pasts.  When she was 6 years old she fell from a boat which caused her to be partially paralyzed.  She gets around just fine (most of the time), but the injury to her spine left her completely incontinent and she needs to wear little girly diapers.  Despite being abandoned by her original owners and taken to a shelter, she is a happy, and playful little girl.

Lucy is missing her left eye and can only see a small amount of light and shadows in her right eye.  The lack of sight is not a handicap for Lucy.  She gets around just fine and can maneuver stairs if she is familiar with where they are.  Lucy just wants to be with her humans all of the time.  She loves to nuzzle and loves to sleep in the bed at night.  She is mostly housebroken.  She has the occasional accident.  If you watch her, she will tell you when she has to go by wandering by the back door.  Lucy is wonderful with children and other dogs.  She would be a great addition to any family!

Yoda and Bella

From their forever family: They are surely a success. They pretty much own us and are being loved so much. Our daughter Sophia (6) gives them pug spa every day when she gets home from school and they sleep on Maria’s (age 8) bed every evening while she reads. They are the most loyal little souls. When I am in the bath, they faithfully wait outside the bathroom door until I come out again. These two won the pug rescue lottery and so did we. It is mutual love. I can send pictures. We just want their former family and foster to know they are being cared for and loved.

Hi! My name is Savannah. I’ve come a long way from the puppy mill I was rescued from in Missouri. I have overcome breast cancer, and I am blind.  I also require ointment on my eyes and it needs to be applied frequently as my eyes are very dry.  I get along fine, I even use the doggie door at my foster home.  I like to wander around the house and yard.  I am not quite ready to walk on a leash…yet! It would probably be best if someone was home with me all/most of the time.  I am a fun, playful loveable dog and I can’t wait to find my forever home. I love to snuggle and I get along with other dogs.

Peanut started out life as a normal happy healthy little puggy girl – then she got adopted by an abusive family.  I will not tell you what all was done to her, but I will say that thankfully a heavenly neighbor called CPR and Peanut came to live a better life.  She was given a wheelchair to keep her back legs from dragging on the ground behind her all the time.  She has gone through therapy that has taught her how to use all 4 legs at the same time, so sometimes her foster mommy calls her Frankenpug. Peanut walks really well in the morning and gradually becomes tired throughout the day and will need help standing or she will just drag herself.  Yes, she has built up some calluses on the top of her back paws, but those are good – she doesn’t bleed from her toenails anymore. Her medications include 1 tablet of Dasuquin daily to help with her joints as we think she’s between 8 & 10 years of age, and ½ pro-in tablet to help with urinary incontinence.   She is not capable of holding her weight up for the duration of moving her bowels and sometimes she ends up going in her sleep.  I know there are many angels out there that don’t mind picking up poo off the dog bed once in a while, and as long as you keep her on a regular diet, the potty will be formed and cleans up easily. She is spayed, had her dental work done, and she does her own therapy every time she moves around.  Peanut can see and hear very well and has no aggression towards anything.  She loves all the other puggies here and because of prior damage, her bark can barely be heard over a whisper………a quiet one through no fault of her own.  Peanut is a wonderful girl who loves to lick her human – we must taste good!  Please consider giving this little girl good memories for the rest of her life and make her part of a caring and patient family.

Hi! I’m Dora the Pug Explorer! I’m a sweet gal, about 1 1/2yrs old. I’m spayed and up to date on all my shots. My foster mommy named me Dora, because I truly am an Explorer and a lot of things are new to me. I’m adjusting to a home life pretty well, but loud noises or lots of commotion scares me. I prefer a quiet relaxed home. I’m great with other dogs, I stick closer to the older calm ones, who like the better things in life, like snuggling on the couch. I’m a bit timid and calm and I love to snuggle in bed at night with humans, and don’t mind be brushed or bathed. I’m also learning potty training which isn’t sooo bad. I’m looking for a quiet home, preferably with older children or older pets that I can lay around and be lazy with. I do come out of my shell, and when I do be prepared for my kisses! I’m a tiny girl, about 13 lbs. of love.

Hi we are Sophie & Bailey!  We came to Colorado Pug Rescue (CPR) from a puppy mill where we were not treated very well.  CPR nursed us back to health and we are now ready to find our forever home!  Here’s a little about us to help you get acquainted with us:

SOPHIE

I’m Sophie and I might be around 10-11 years old, but nobody knows for sure.  I had many ear infections during my time in the puppy mill, and can’t hear too well as a result, but I watch for hand signals and my face lights up when I see you.  I am a tiny little girl though my foster mommy said I’m going on a diet – I heard something about 14 pounds is too much, I don’t know what that means, but she said maybe I could walk up and down steps on my own if I did lose weight. Anyways, my soft black fur has some brown shimmer to it in the right light. I love, love, LOVE to cuddle next to my foster parents on the couch.  If we are not lazing around on the couch, I will follow you around the house.  I may be missing a few teeth and make occasional mistakes in the house, I know I will be better once my foster family works on getting me on a proper potty schedule.

BAILEY

I’m Bailey and I’m having my sister type this for me because I am blind.  I am missing one eye and the other does not work.  But that does not stop me from following you all around the house or trotting around out in the yard!  I am a teddy bear of a pug, a sturdy, but fit boy of 16 pounds of pure sweet pug.  People think I am around 8-9 years old, as I don’t have much grey fur.  It only takes me a few days to get my bearings in a new house, though I do still bump into things – I walk slowly so I don’t hurt myself.  I need a home with only one floor or stairs that can be completely sealed off so I don’t fall down them.  I am a good boy and take my daily pill (that helps me breathe) during breakfast and dinner.  I like to cuddle with my sister and lick her face.  I am also missing a few teeth and sometimes make an oopsie in the house, but I am learning how to follow a potty schedule too.  Please give us a forever home with you!

  • Female, age 5 months, 19.5 lb.
  • Housetrained
  • Unsure about kids
  • Good with cats and dogs
  • Pug mix -possibly Pug/Chihuahua mix

Hi, I’m Perla, my foster mom calls me Pixie Lou because she says I’m to cute too be a Perla.

I was turned in as a stray in to the Arizona Humane Society in Payson AZ in June.  My brother and I were brought to Colorado Pug Rescue because they thought we would have a better chance of finding a forever home. I arrived in  Colorado one sick little girl, some sort of infection, my doctor and foster parents nursed me back to health and you would never know  I was sick a day in my life!

I’m a smartie, I usually know to come when called and to sit, perfection is still in the works. My foster mom says that I’m losing my baby teeth so I bite and chew, it makes my gums feel better. Once I get these baby’s out I’ll stop all that and be great ‘cuz I’m a lover and cuddlier. Every night foster mom and I lay on the couch she reads some silly book and I cuddle up with her, that’s my favorite thing. I sleep and travel in my crate, I get nervous in the car but foster mom says I’m MUCH better then I use to be, she says sometimes puppies are like that.

I love my foster brother and other dogs. Once we meet and greet, its game on. I’m good with cats but prefer dogs.  I’m housetrained.

I could be your shadow and don’t like to be alone, I’d love a brother or sister. I love sunbathing and enjoy being both inside and out but mostly I love being with you. Everyone who meets me loves me, come meet me.

Tapanga & Bowser

August 12, 2012 @ 11:47 pm posted by AbbyS

Tapanga and Bowser came to Colorado Pug Rescue back in 2010 because their owner could no longer keep them. They have been a couple their whole lives and they are just the cutest pair. They always have to know where the other is and are so very loving toward each other. Tapanga likes to spoon Bowser and rest her back leg over his hip. Tapanga is now 14yrs young and Bowser is 13yrs young. Their forever family never came along and their health is starting to become an issue for them so their foster mommy has decided to become their forever foster mommy until it is their time to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Colorado Pug Rescue will continue to pay for their medical needs. They are both deaf but that doesn’t slow them down from wanting to go to the dog park and be the great pugs that they are. They love to snuggle with their foster mommy and her 5 pugs on the giant sectional. Tapanga gets very excited when the cat comes her way. She thinks he is just the coolest and smells wonderful. Bowser is a quiet guy except for when mom comes home from work. He barks with excitement and joy that she is home. They both just recently had their second teeth cleaning since coming to CPR and also had to have some tumors removed. Bowser had 2 removed and they were both benign. Tapanga had 11 removed and three of them were Mast Cell tumors so the doc has put her on a medicine that has been proven to help keep those nasty tumors from coming back. However it is pretty expensive and costs CPR $100 per month. They both suffer from old “Arthur” so they have to be carried up and down the stairs. CPR supplies them with Cosequin which is the best joint supplement on the market. This helps them be able to go to the dog park and enjoy life without pain. Bowser has it worse than Tapanga so he also takes a mild painkiller twice per day to ensure he is not suffering. They are very happy and well taken care of because of Colorado Pug Rescue, Animal Health Care Specialist, their foster mommy, and all the other volunteers that make it possible. CPR relies greatly on donations to be able to continue to care for pugs in need. Please make a donation in honor of Tapanga and Bowser. Thanks so much!!   The Oldsters

Beau and Hanna are 13 years old and might be siblings. They were relinquished from a shelter, so not much is known about them.

Beau is super sweet and mellow and has no teeth, but as you can see, he is a big jolly boy.

Hanna is the friendliest happiest girl you’ll ever know. She  does struggle with incontinence and has arthritis in her hips
