Hi, I’m Bones.  I came to Colorado Pug Rescue after my family decided it was best for me to be in a home that was less crowded.  I get along great with cats, dogs, and chickens.  I also love howling when you walk in the door to say hello!  I am crate trained and house trained.  I am thankful to CPR for providing a loving foster family.  I only like to eat when you put my bowl by your feet.  I’m a large pug who would make a great big in a family with a large heart.  Thanks for looking!

Hi, I’m Oliver.   I came to Colorado Pug Rescue after two families decided it wasn’t a good fit and wanted me to have a better home.  I am so grateful to all that CPR has provided: a loving foster home and much needed medical care.  I had two cancerous growths removed from my legs; I am now cancer free and loving life.  I do require a joint supplement daily to ensure my knees stay in good shape.
I get along great with my foster pug brother and sister. I get along great with kids too.  I am crate trained, and house trained-I used a doggy door with my previous family.  I love to cuddle at your feet in bed when we are sleeping together. Walks are the best–I have a lot of energy to go around the block with you.
I bark when you leave; but that’s my way of saying, “I’ll miss you–Come Home Soon!”
I am looking for a family that will love me forever–will you be the one to pick me? They say the third time is the charm.
Thanks for looking and I can’t wait to meet you soon.

Butters

Butters is a wonderful pug.  He’s extremely kind and energetic, as displayed in his current foster home (surrounded by multiple dogs of various size, gender and breed). He has a little bit of a voice but without aggression… he likes to let you know he’s happy! Butters responds to many of the basic canine commands (he can sit, he’ll stay for the typical 30 seconds, and others we are still learning). He’s in wonderful health with no history of major issue. It’s evident Butters came from a loving home and will be a tremendous addition for another!

Hi, my name is Curly and I’m about 4 years old.  My foster mom thinks I got my name because my tail is so curly but I’m pretty sure it’s because I like to curl up and snuggle with everyone.  I have a lot of energy and would love to become part of family that has a yard and enjoys taking me on walks.  I get along great with other pugs and warm up to larger dogs after about 15 minutes.  I pride myself on being quiet too, I don’t snore and I very seldom bark.  I’m not your usual lazy, loud pug! I’m quite the skinny gentleman too, I don’t scarf my food down but I sure do love a good treat or bone.   I get really anxious when my foster parents leave me during the day and don’t enjoy being in my kennel for long periods of time.  I would much prefer to be with you all the time so we can play and cuddle.  I am a very obedient little fellow, I respond to a few basic commands and come eagerly when my name is called. Sometimes I have an accident in the house but it’s usually when I get nervous.  My foster mom says I’ll get adopted quickly because I’m so love able and cute, so put my name down on your application if you’d like to give me a forever home!

  • Special Needs: Has arthritis and needs soft food as he is missing several teeth
  • Adoption fee: $100

My name is Dante, I will be 9 years old on May 24th and in very good shape for my age. My foster Mom says I have the softest fur and a face that melts her heart. I like to go for walks and ride in the car and most of all sit on a warm lap. I get along real good with the dogs and cats that also live here. I am in good health except for a little arthritis and I don’t have too many teeth left do I eat soft food.  I would do well in a home as the only dog or with other dogs that won’t expect me to play rough with them (same with children). If you are looking for a well behaved, mellow fellow, I am your Pug.

Hi I am Max (or “Boo” as my foster family calls me). I am a very sweet boy. I get along great with my foster brothers and sisters, but I try to stay out of their way as they are a little to rambunctious for me. I am a little guy who would rather sit in your lap and watch the other pugs play then join them. I get cold easily, so I wear my sweater to help keep me warm. I get along with dogs, cats, kittens, goats, chickens, and children. I do not bark as it is hard for me to do so. I have a chronic cough that may be due to a collapsing trachea, my vet is checking on that. It isn’t to bad, just some daily medication is needed. I am house broken, but I have not mastered the doggie door yet. I do well when my foster family is at work and school, but when they are home I cry if left in a room alone and will find them. I will have a coughing attack if I get to excited or exercise hard, I prefer to sit in your lap. I enjoy car rides and sit nicely. I had surgery recently and had many teeth removed. My foster mom softens my food with a little warm water to make it easier to eat. I am a great pug who is looking for my forever home!

Frankie Joe

  • Male, age 6 years
  • 20 lbs.
  • Special Needs: Needs to be on a STRICT diet due to bladder stones, regular checks for mast cell tumors and lifelong anti-cancer meds (Kinavet 1x a day)
  • Adoption Fee: $300

Frankie Joe is a middle-aged pug loaded with personality and affection to share. He is cautious with new faces but he warms up quickly. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs (including larger dogs, where Joe is capable of tolerating typical domination behaviors while asserting his own place in the pack). Despite his troubles, Joe is in wonderful physical shape and enjoys an active lifestyle, though he’s just as happy at nap time. He’ll take off with the kids in the backyard, but once he finds a welcoming lap, he’s yours for the night. He’ll bring tons of joy to warm and living home.

Yoda and Bella

@ 8:48 pm posted by AbbyS

From their forever family: They are surely a success. They pretty much own us and are being loved so much. Our daughter Sophia (6) gives them pug spa every day when she gets home from school and they sleep on Maria’s (age 8) bed every evening while she reads. They are the most loyal little souls. When I am in the bath, they faithfully wait outside the bathroom door until I come out again. These two won the pug rescue lottery and so did we. It is mutual love. I can send pictures. We just want their former family and foster to know they are being cared for and loved.

I am Pluto, a loving, sweet boy who just wants to be near you and hang out.  I am very low-maintenance dog and give loads of love.  Before I came to live with my foster family, I was owned by an elderly woman who passed away.  I lived with her adult daughter for several months but she didn’t have time to care for me and I spent all day alone in the kitchen. When I first came to my foster family, I was shy and scared. I still get timid sometimes when I first meet people and I shy away when adults I don’t know reach down to pet me. But once I am sure you are kind, I can’t wait to be near you.  I like to find a soft spot in the same room as my owner, lie down and just enjoy being with the family.  I like to snuggle and love to have my belly rubbed.  I like adults but I truly love kids, even little ones, and I light up when they come in the room. I would enjoy being in a family with children and would love to have an owner who can spend some time with me during the day.  I also like other dogs and have gotten along well with the Labrador I currently live with.  I am not an alpha dog and I let the other dogs lead.  I have been neutered and am up to date on all my shots.  I recently had dental work done and had a few teeth pulled so I need my food softened with a little water before I eat.  I am potty trained and can simply be let out to take care of my business but I love to take walks as well.  Being outside with my owner makes me positively giddy!  My previous owner trained me to stay away from stairs, I’m what you call a “one story” pug. Please consider giving me a forever family. I’m not much trouble and I am full of love.

  • Special Needs: will need eye drops, partially blind, and hard of hearing
  • Adoption Fee: $300

Hi, my name is Parker.  I grew up in Parker, which is how I got my name.  My former family had small children, and I loved them very much, but they developed allergies and had to let me go.  They didn’t have enough time to care for me properly, and as a result I am a bit overweight.  I have a little trouble walking, which will likely improve as I drop some lbs., and I take glucosamine for my joints.  I am just getting over an ear infection, and my hearing is not great.  Unfortunately, I am mostly blind in one eye and partially blind in the other.  I will need eye drops and eye ointment for the rest of my life, but I tolerate my meds well.  Once I learn my environment, I get around just fine.  I am 8 yrs old, and I believe in conservation of energy.  I prefer to be wherever the humans are, especially if that is the sofa or the bed.  I play a little bit with my foster-sister, but mostly I like to lie around and chew on my mummy.  I like cats too.  I am house-broken and I use the doggy door like an old pro.  I am so sweet that my foster-mom calls me a big sack of sugar.  I need a forever home where I can get lots of affection and some regular exercise.  I just want to be loved.  Wanna snuggle?
