Tucker adjusting very well after losing his eye.  He is a wild man that loves kids and cuddling if you can slow him down.  He loves playing with his toys, is doing very well in his crate training and is for the most part housebroken.  He has learned to sit and “drop it” very well with verbal commands.  He is not particular about male or female adults to bond with, he is happy with everyone. He has been happy when he sees other dogs and has met a cat or two.

Hi we are Sophie & Bailey!  We came to Colorado Pug Rescue (CPR) from a puppy mill where we were not treated very well.  CPR nursed us back to health and we are now ready to find our forever home!  Here’s a little about us to help you get acquainted with us:

SOPHIE

I’m Sophie and I might be around 10-11 years old, but nobody knows for sure.  I had many ear infections during my time in the puppy mill, and can’t hear too well as a result, but I watch for hand signals and my face lights up when I see you.  I am a tiny little girl though my foster mommy said I’m going on a diet – I heard something about 14 pounds is too much, I don’t know what that means, but she said maybe I could walk up and down steps on my own if I did lose weight. Anyways, my soft black fur has some brown shimmer to it in the right light. I love, love, LOVE to cuddle next to my foster parents on the couch.  If we are not lazing around on the couch, I will follow you around the house.  I may be missing a few teeth and make occasional mistakes in the house, I know I will be better once my foster family works on getting me on a proper potty schedule.

BAILEY

I’m Bailey and I’m having my sister type this for me because I am blind.  I am missing one eye and the other does not work.  But that does not stop me from following you all around the house or trotting around out in the yard!  I am a teddy bear of a pug, a sturdy, but fit boy of 16 pounds of pure sweet pug.  People think I am around 8-9 years old, as I don’t have much grey fur.  It only takes me a few days to get my bearings in a new house, though I do still bump into things – I walk slowly so I don’t hurt myself.  I need a home with only one floor or stairs that can be completely sealed off so I don’t fall down them.  I am a good boy and take my daily pill (that helps me breathe) during breakfast and dinner.  I like to cuddle with my sister and lick her face.  I am also missing a few teeth and sometimes make an oopsie in the house, but I am learning how to follow a potty schedule too.  Please give us a forever home with you!

Hi! My name is Najah. I am five years old, full of spunk and a real character. I love people and I am very friendly. I will sit in anyone’s lap and they instantly fall in love with me! I am good with other dogs and love to wrestle and play. I can be a little “bossy” at first with other dogs but once I know them I am their best buddy. I really like to explore out in the yard and sometimes I bark but I am a very good listener. If you tell me “no barking” I will usually stop right away. Not much is known about my past except that I have neurological issues, probably due to a lower back injury. Because of this, I don’t always know right away when I have to do my business. My foster mommy & daddy take me out a lot and are teaching me to do my business on command with lots of praise. I am taking an inexpensive medicine twice a day to help strengthen my bladder. I walk a little funny, but that is getting better with each passing day as I gain muscle strength. Glucosamine also helps keep my joints healthy. I have no problem going up and down stairs, but having less stairs would be better for me in the long run. I am great on a leash and can go for short walks. I get along well with other dogs but would prefer to be in a home with one other companion. When I see a cat, I bark; I just can’t help myself. It would be best if you didn’t have one. My ideal family would have lots of time for me, have lots of patience with me, and be willing to do continued training to help me become the best pug I can be. I am a perfect dog because I love to play and be active but am just as happy cuddling on the couch and chilling out. If you are looking for a fun, playful, loving dog with a great personality then I am your girl! Can’t wait to meet you!

Hello! My name is Rugby. I am an eight-year-old female BUG – pug/Boston terrier mix. I get along well with other fur babies (dogs, anyway). I would be happy in a home with older children. I am full of energy and love to go for walks. I love stuffed toys and tennis balls. I’ll need a home with a high fence, as I can clear most fences; I am very agile for my age! I am a hearty eater and gobble up my breakfast and dinner. Of course, I always leave room for treats, and they are most welcome. I get really scared of thunder and lightning storms and am not fond of “having my nails done.” I have the occasional mess in the house but try to be a good girl most of the time. My other hobbies include chasing bunnies and cuddling. I hope to win your heart!

Love, Rugby

Jeff and Smutt are a bonded pair that came into the rescue because of their owner’s serious illness. Jeff is a ball of energy who sleeps with one eye open, always ready to play. He is working on not jumping up and does know how to sit. Smutt, on the other hand, came to us severely obese. He has bursts of energy but also likes heavy doses of relaxation time. Since coming into rescue, Smutt has lost a couple of pounds, and his endurance on walks is much improved. However, he has more weight to lose and will need to remain on a strict diet.

Jeff and Smutt both love running in the nearby field, regular walks, lots of attention, cuddling together, and fresh vegetables as treats. Though both dogs are very good natured, Jeff would probably be better with no small children due to his jumping on people.

If you’re looking for two expressive, affectionate pugs, Jeff and Smutt would be a great addition to your family.
