We Need You!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a CPR Volunteer! We are always looking for volunteers to help! There are so many ways to help:
OUR GREATEST NEED: Foster Parent: Care for a rescue pug in your home. CPR does not have a physical shelter to house and care for pugs, so we rely completely on individuals willing to open their homes. CPR will pay for any necessary medical treatments or medications needed by your foster pug. You supply food, water and LOVE. Fostering is a great way to involve your whole family and make a difference in the life of a pug! (Click here to learn more about what fostering involves)
Home Visits: Help us match pugs with potential adopters by doing in-home visits! You can be a wonderful advisor to new pug parents! We also do home visits for prospective foster families! Your help in this role moves pugs into new homes much more quickly.
Special Events and Fundraising: Are you a people person as well as a pug person? CPR raises awareness and money through fundraising and adoption events. You can help us showcase adoptable pugs, answer questions, and do a lot of pug snuggling, as well as helping at events. Events are held throughout the year, and throughout the state. This is a great opportunity for those who can only volunteer intermittently.
Pug Chauffeur: Our pugs arrive from all over Colorado, and are adopted into homes across the state. We need individuals who are willing to help transport pugs from their foster homes to special events, pick up pugs from shelters, or from someone who is relinquishing their pug for adoption then transporting them to their new foster home. Be a part of the pug relay! All you need is a car, a crate, and a willingness to hit the road with a pug. Bring your family along for the ride, too!
Follow up calls: CPR wants to make sure that adopted Pugs are a good match for our adopters. We periodically call adopters to see how things are going and to see if there is anything else we can do to assist them. This is usually a perfect opportunity for adopters to gush about how much they LOVE their pug and send CPR cute photos or stories that we add to the Happy Tails section of our website.
Do you have any special skills or talents? We bet we can find a way to put them to good use! We can always use help with writing, communicating, graphic design, IT, accounting and audit, legal advice, marketing, advertising, fundraising, event planning, dog training, veterinary skills, you name it.
You can spend as little or as much time as you wish volunteering, picking a role to suit your interests and the time you have to spare.
