Who We Are

Colorado Pug Rescue (CPR) is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of pug dogs.  CPR was established in 1995 by members of a Denver-area pug dog club who were concerned about the welfare of their breed.  We are a no-kill rescue and never turn away any pug due to illness or medical needs.  We are licensed by the State of Colorado as an animal rescue organization.  We are supported by the Rocky Mountain Pug Dog Club.  We maintain a five-member Board of Directors, several coordinator positions, and a network of foster homes and volunteers. Our current Board members are Vicki Reichel, director; Lindsay Reichel, vice president; ‘Berta Landin, treasurer, records, license compliance; Abby Simpson, incoming surrenders; and Janine Fischer, events.

What We Do

CPR rescues pugs that are unwanted, abandoned, stray, sick or injured, or that can no longer be cared for by their owners, throughout Colorado and in surrounding states.  We provide necessary veterinary treatment including vet exam, vaccination, spay/neuter, heartworm test and preventative, microchip, and dental care as basic medical care for our pugs.  We also address emotional and behavioral issues.  We have no central shelter facility.  All of our foster pugs are kept in approved foster homes where they receive love and care as part of the family.  When our foster pugs are ready to be adopted, we place them in their forever homes after a comprehensive placement process.

How You Can Help

As a non-profit, we rely on the support of donations to provide treatment care and support to the pugs in our care.  Your tax-deductible contributions will allow us to provide critical surgeries, life-saving medications, and preventative care to pugs in need.  Every donation makes a difference.
