Wally was relinquished to CPR because his family was breaking up and they just didn’t have time for him. Unfortunately, he also spent long hours crated because of a marking habit. Upon arriving at his foster family home, it became obvious that he was suffering from a urinary infection and had a quick trip to the vet and was given antibiotics. After about a week of belly band use and no attempts at marking, we are suspicious that the marking was caused by the infection and not being given timely potty breaks.
Wally is friendly with other dogs, large and small. He likes men and women and children of all ages. His previous owner said he gets along with cats also. Wally loves to go for walks but needs some leash etiquette lessons. He sometimes tries to escape out the door, though he is learning to “stay”. His previous owner said that he barks at outside noises and activity so his new home should be where noise sensitivity is not an issue. Wally is basically a teenager in a pug body – he has a mind of his own and doesn’t always listen to his mom! Wally loves to cuddle but is also happy sleeping in a dog bed next to you. He is used to sleeping in his crate at night and feels secure in it but will also join you in your bed.
The ideal home for Wally would have children and a medium to high energy level and one where he would not be crated for long periods of time. Please consider making this loving little guy a member of your family.
