  • Special needs – daily Dasuquin for arthritis pain

Miss Petunia is the reincarnation of the Queen of Sheba – at least she acts like she is! Although she is a pint-sized little gal, she has a big heart for her human companions. Petunia is about eight years young. She’s no spring chicken, but she’s no old hen, either. She has plenty of years of love left to give and receive. She is deaf and has to have one Dasuquin daily to help ease her arthritis pain. Her foster mom also gives her Tramadol (disguised as a piece of cheese) whenever she’s had a lot of activity with her five other companions.

Petunia can be a dominating figure to other furbabies unless they are capable of putting her in her place, and if you have another furbaby that is submissive, you will have to take the reins and make sure that Petunia knows her dominating behavior will not be tolerated (gentle, firm and consistent teaching works best). She would prefer’ however, that she be your only “kid”.

Petunia is not much of a barker. She uses the doggie door and loves a less active lifestyle. Petunia will look for you if she doesn’t see you around; she worries about those she loves, like a good puggy should. Her biggest handicap is that she has to share herself with so many others, and that means less time for her “royal highness”. She is a happy little bundle, so if you’re looking for a lap warmer this winter, Miss Petunia is good for you!
