Pookie is a seven year old female pug/corgi mix who is full of energy and a sweet snuggler. She likes her toys, and she is quick for a short legged, 16 pound, middle aged pug/corgi girl. Pookie can jump up on the couch to get her snuggles and loves pulling her doggie beds and blankets around the house to get the right spot. She’s a good eater and likes her treats.

Pookie needs to be the only dog or have an experienced owner willing to obtain training for her. She has her alpha side and lets her foster brother know his place.

Pookie knows how to use the doggie door to get out but is still trying to figure out how to get back in. She is potty trained and has no issues as long as her people let her out regularly. She is healthy with only a couple of minor issues. One issue is a luxating knee in her left rear leg, which means the knee pops out of place but then goes back in on occasion. It doesn’t seem to bother her or keep her from running around or going for a good walk, and the vet is not concerned. She likes to go for walks and is good on leash in a harness.

Overall, Pookie is a wonderfully sweet adorable puggie who would be a great companion. She has lived with small children and does well with them. She has some food aggression, so she should be fed with a watchful eye. She is working on receiving treats gently and would need to continue working on that. We have not tested her with cats but believe she would be fine.
