Hi! My name is Emily. You can also call me Emmy, EmmyLou, or LuLu; I respond to them all. I consider myself a very unique-looking pug. I may look a little scary with my front teeth poking out and with what looks like a scowl on my face, but trust me, I am really just a teddy bear. I am house trained (although I have had a couple of accidents, but who doesn’t?), obedient (I can roll over on command, lie on command – well, I actually rollover on the lie command as well, and sit). I love to run around and play with my foster sister (who I do recognize is the boss) and sleep curled up with her. I also love being around my human foster father, especially if he wants to rub my chest. I can be a bit of a pain regarding this as I just don’t want him to stop. I will paw at him to continue rubbing my chest until he gives me a firm “NO”.
Now, I must tell you a few things about myself that you may not like. First, I have a problem with new people in my life. I tend to bark at them for about 15 minutes or so. On the positive side, that is about all it takes for me to get used to you, but don’t force yourself on me or I might get a little snappy. Just let me get used to you; it only takes a few minutes. If you have a treat, that will definitely show me you are a good person. Next, I am a talker; boy am I ever! When I am outside, I like to let the whole world know that I am there. If there are other dogs or people across the fence, I just can’t shut up! I have been told that I am getting a bark control collar to help me work on this annoying habit. As I am a smart girl, it should not take me too long to learn to control myself when I am outside. Lastly, I believe that treats are only for me. I have a hard time being patient when it comes to treat time; I like to try and keep everyone away from my foster father during this time. So, if you have other dogs that get treats, you will probably have to work out a system. Since I am number three in the pecking order, I get my treat last. I get my treat when I go into my crate, then I am all happy and ready for a nap.
