FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What is the adoption fee?
A. Up to 2 yrs old $300.00
    2 yrs - 10 yrs. $250.00
    Over 10 yrs $75.00
There are exceptions for special needs pugs.

Q. Does CPR accept personal checks?
A. NO!  We regret that due to losses stemming from NSF checks, we can no longer accept personal checks.  The adoption fee may be paid by cash, money order, cashier's check, PayPal account, or credit card through the PayPal website (no PayPal account is required for this).

Q. What does the adoption fee cover?
A. All of our pugs are fully vaccinated, including rabies.  We test them for heartworm and place them on preventative at any time of year.  They are spayed/neutered with exceptions due to age or medical problems.  They are checked for any medical problems at that time.

Q. What type of medical problems do rescue dogs usually have?
A. It varies from a very healthy dog to one that has many health concerns.  CPR will evaluate and do everything medically necessary to make the Pug as comfortable as possible so it may lead a near normal life.  This may involve surgery for an elongated palate, stenotic nares and luxating patellas.

Q. Do I have to pay for the medical care on a dog that had surgery?
A. NO.  CPR does not charge any more for that dog.  We cover all of our expenses through adoption fees, merchandise sales, fundraising events, and private donations.

Q. I want to adopt a pug. Can you tell me what you have available so I can see it and then put in an application?
A. NO.  The pugs that are relinquished to CPR are evaluated at our foster homes.  Since we have a number of applicants on file at all times, the most compatible applicant on file at that time will be called to see the dog.

Q. Once I submit an application, how long does the process take before I will be able to get a rescue pug?
A. This is a very difficult question for us as we have no idea when we will get dogs relinquished to us.  It could vary between one week and six months.

Q. Where do your rescue pugs come from?
A. CPR gets pugs from private relinquishments as well as shelters and strays that are turned in to us.
