Allow me to introduce myself, and thank
you for taking the time to read about me and Miss Pugsley.
I am Max, an 11-year-old neutered male with a double curl in my tail. I was
turned over to Colorado Pug Rescue because my master crossed over the "Rainbow
Bridge" several weeks ago. I love to ride in vehicles and go for walks on my
leash, as does Miss Pugsley. We are learning from our foster parent how to walk
on a leash and some commands such as sit and stay, heel, lie down and bedtime
for "puppies." Miss Pugsley and I will follow you everywhere. I will bark for a
short time if you leave me behind a closed door, but if I can see you, I won't
bark nearly as much. My foster parent is helping me to feel more confident and
secure so that I won't need to bark on your leaving. When you return, I am full
of vim and vigor. I growl and wag my tail, and I even sing as only a pug can do,
but then I settle down after a few moments. Miss Pugsley will dance and wag her
tail and smile at your return.
I also tend to growl when my collar is put on and when you brush me, but this is
because I am getting so much attention. I am not used to this, but again my
foster parent is working with me so that I can enjoy the time, experience and
LOVE being given to me. Really, I am a laid back guy who loves to be in the
company of my owner. I do snore, and I breathe heavily at times. I won't sleep
on or in the bed with you but would like to be close. My biggest thing is I tend
to scratch my front legs and lick my front forearms and paws. The vet cannot say
why except there possibly being a pinched nerve in my back. I can't do a lot of
stairs but three or four is O.K.
Miss Pugsley, on the other hand, is a bundle of expression and LOVE and will
give that love at a moment's notice. She would love to sleep next to you and be
in your lap. She is shy (as I am) and does bark at new acquaintances or noises.
I do the same, and our foster parent is teaching us who and what to bark at in
these cases. Miss Pugsley loves to play, especially with cats and bunnies. Our
foster parent has one of each, and they are comical together, the way they chase
and play as though they were long-lost friends. Miss Pugsley is afraid of
brushes, but with time she will come to enjoy this as a time of love between pug
and owner.
We love our new home and foster parent, but what we really need is a safe and
loving home, preferably with an older couple or single who can be around all the
time, as Miss Pugsley and I really like to be around someone.
If you have the time and love for a couple of LOVING pugs, please put our names
on your application.
