Ivy:
Hi!  My name is Ivy Rose Foster.  I’m about six years old and a curvy four pounds.  When I’m not posing like a super model, I enjoy cuddling on fuzzy blankets with my very best friend, Evelyn; head scratches; being brushed; and French fries. I came from a super scary situation and I don’t like to talk about it.  I’m learning to trust and like to be cuddled.  I’m not super big on being picked up but my foster mom does it anyway.  I very much like soft, slow, gentle pets…and French fries.  I also don’t like coming in doors.  You have to go get me and bring be back inside.  Doors are scary.  But, French fries are good.  I need to have my “big-girl surgery”, whatever that means, and I have a big bump called a “tumor” on my tummy which also needs to be by-op-seeeed.  My teeth are not good either.  My foster mom hasn’t been able to help me with these things yet because the vet-lady thinks Evelyn might have an infection that is causing her poop to be really runny so me and Evelyn are on anti-by-oticks.  My foster mommy says we can start with the big girl surgeries once we’re sure my tummy and Evelyn’s tummy are ok.  Mainly, I want you to know that I am a super sweet girl who is learning to trust.  I wag my tail and use my big voice when I want to go outside or to have some pets.  I never put my potty in the house, unless my tummy is feeling sick.  I also like French fries.  Me and Evelyn are very best pals and do everything together and I have to stay with her forever and ever.  I don’t mind my foster mommy’s other dogs at all.  They’re huge and sniff me but I know they just want to be friends.  I don’t really like little kids – they are scary, but I do like French fries!!  I like to go outside and I like to explore inside too.  When I’m not exploring I like to hang in my room with my best friend, Evelyn.  I also like French fries.

Evelyn:  Hi hi hi!!  My name is Evelyn Azalea Foster.  I am only two years old and weigh about seven pounds.  My foster mommy says that my grey face makes me look very elegant and dignified.  I like to sleep on big fuzzy blankets with my very best friend in the whole-wide-world, Ivy!  I also like to go outside!!  I would also like to play with my foster daddy but I’m not super sure about that just yet.  I do like to run and jump and wag my tail but mostly I like to sit by Ivy.  She’s French fry-crazy so she needs me to follow her around and make sure she’s OK. I will let my foster mommy pet my head and I like it, even though I don’t show it.  Me and Ivy came from a super-not-OK place and so we need some time to learn that everything is OK and no one will hurt us.  Did I mention that I like to go outside?  I do!  I really do!  I run really fast to get outside and then jump when I get there!!  I like to lay down on the sidewalk – it’s very warm.  But…I get scared when I come back in the house.  You have to open the door and let me come in on my own time.  I need to have my “big-girl surgery” and my toofs need to be cleaned.  My tummy has been upset and my poopers have been super runny so the vet-lady put me and Ivy on medicine to help us feel better.  My foster mommy says we can talk about “big-girl surgeries” when me and Ivy are all back to feeling good!  When I am not outside, I like to look around the house a little bit, but mainly I like to sit in my room with Ivy.  When I get scared I hide behind the washing machine but I haven’t been scared in awhile because I’m learning it’s OK and we are safe.  I don’t mind my foster mommy’s other dogs.  They are rude and try to sniff my butt.  I am not overly fond of the toddler or the big white hellbeasts that my foster mommy calls “cats”.  Hellbeasts need to be barked at but I don’t hurt them.  I just don’t want them to sit by me or Ivy.  Toddlers are scary and leashes are just evil.  My foster mommy wants you to know that I love Ivy very, very much and I try to stay right by her, although sometimes I will go somewhere by myself.  I am a very good girl.  I just get scared and I like to stay in my quiet place with my very best friend.

From Ivy’s and Evelyn’s Foster Mom:  These are phenomenal little girls.  They are super quiet and well behaved.  Ivy likes to talk when she wants to go outside or come out of their little room.  Ivy is quicker to warm up and will come close to you for pets.  Evelyn will not and will only accept pets when she is sitting in her crate.  Although, Evelyn is more trusting of my husband and will let him pet her.  Neither lady likes to be picked up.  Both are completely housebroken and only have poop accidents when their tummies are upset. Neither has shown any dog or food aggression.  Evelyn did growl at my toddler once but has never snapped.  Evelyn is also not fond of the cats but only barks and I don’t believe she’d hurt them.  They are fat and slow-moving so she could nip them if she wanted to do so.  Ivy and Evelyn were found wandering together in rural New Mexico.  We believe they were dumped, probably by a breeder.  Given that both cower and shy away when you put your hand down to pet them, I can’t imagine the hell they endured before they were finally dumped. However, both girls are making strides.  Ivy faster than Evelyn – but both are wonderful, sweet little girls.  One or both have had runny poop since coming into my care about a month ago.  Antibiotics are helping but the runny poop returns.  Once their digestive systems are on the mend, they can go in for a spay and then later for a dental.  Ivy will also need her mammary tumor biopsied.  Evelyn is so, so in love with Ivy and we think Ivy may be her mother.  They are absolutely bonded.  The girls, at least for now, would do better in a quieter home with older or no kids.  Dogs and cats are OK as long as they can have somewhere that is just their space.  I cannot stress enough how wonderfully sweet these two ladies are.  They are great dogs now and will only get better with time.  I am more than happy to give my mobile telephone number to you if you foster these two.  They are so, so wonderful!  We adore them and you will too!
