Chino is a beautiful 3 year old neutered male pug. He has a wonderful personality and is house broken and crate trained. He loves to chase balls and squirrels and chew on toys. He will attack the TV if any animal is on the screen. He would do well in a home without small children. He does great with teenagers and adults. Like most pugs he needs to be with you at all times.

However this little guy can only be placed with a person who has enough time and financial resources for him. Here is why:

Chino has complex allergies to foods and the environment. His allergies are currently stable with 5 days a week of Atopica and a diet of prescription Kangaroo & Oats dog food. His only treat is Steel Cut Oats that we cook up just for him. He needs to be bathed and have his ears cleaned weekly. (He loves his bath) There is a strong possibility that his allergies will become worse over the summer and you may need to increase his medicine and bathe him more often. You may even need to wipe his feet off ever time he comes inside. Here are some examples of the costs associated with Chino:

Prescription food $55 for a 15 lb bag, Atopica $107 for 30 capsules, Recheck exam at VRCC $79

If he has a flare up he may have to go on antibiotics or steroids. You will know when he is having a reaction because he will bite his paws violently.

He loves to play with our other pug but when it comes to feeding time they need to be fed separately and he is not allowed to lick the other dog’s bowls.

If you have the time and resources for this needy little man, please put Chino on your application.
